Heels!
Finding the right pair of heels can be a difficult task, sizing is a complete nightmare, because if a size UK8 fits from one maker it does not mean another brand of shoes also UK8 will fit, in fact it's almost certain they will not! It takes some time but once you have found a brand that fits you in a particular size it's a good idea to stick with it, particularly if you are unable to shop in person. Because of the nature of our crossdressing may girls are unable to walk into their local high street shoe shop and buy a pair of shoes, if this is the case with you shopping on line is the only option. There are plenty of sellers on line, many offer click and collect and free returns, try to buy new if possible as used shoes do tend to be disappointing.
But why heels? They are the most impractical thing on this earth, do you really need four and a half inch spike under your heel? They can be uncomfortable, your feet hurt at the end of the evening, they are hopeless in the rain, likely to make you stumble when walking over uneven ground and in many cases don't even completely cover your foot! So from a completely sensible point of view flat shoes, even, heaven forbid, man shoes are a much better bet. But we are crossdressers who cares about being sensible, and if you're determined to make an impression on your night out, it has to be heels.
All the advice about wearing heels suggests starting with a low heel and working up to a larger heel. But those four inch heels look so good, how hard can it be? You buy your lovely new heels, try them on, they fit well are comfortable, no problem. Except, by three in the morning having been out clubbing all night, and you can barely walk! I know I've done it, more than once, walking home in the cold and wet with my heels in my hand and another pair of tights ruined! So be warned!!
Heels finish an outfit off, they make your legs look better, a lovely pair of heels is a thing to behold, almost a work of art, and, unlike boring mens shoes come in lots of different styles and colours so you can match them to your outfit with ease. So, impractical as they most undoubtedly are, heels are the shoe of choice for me, I won't say how many pairs I have managed to collect over the past few years, but it's a lot more than I need!
